Abodu sells factory-built backyard homes in the Bay Area and Greater Los Angeles with a fixed, itemized, all-in price. As of September 2026 that price runs from $298,800 for a 385 sq ft studio to $498,800 for a 1,195 sq ft three-bedroom, and it covers design, permits, foundation, utilities and installation.

Good to know: Abodu's own site says Bobby Shokri acquired the company in 2025, after reports that summer that the original company had stopped paying some vendors. We found no bankruptcy filing. If you signed before the change, confirm in writing who holds your contract and deposit.

What the Abodu price includes

The all-in price covers the home, design, civil engineering, permits and plan check, fire sprinklers, delivery, foundation and site work, utility trenching up to 50 feet and the connections, a crane up to 100 feet, and a project manager.

Abodu is the only company we reviewed that publishes, in writing, what sits outside the price: a flat $6,000 boundary survey and lot-marking package, trenching beyond 50 feet, craning beyond 100 feet, demolition or tree removal, unusual site engineering, and sales tax. Walk those two distances in your yard and you will know most of your number before a sales call.

Is Abodu still in business?

Yes. Abodu is operating, and its website and price list are live. Its About page says Bobby Shokri acquired the company in 2025 and now leads it as CEO. The change followed reports in August 2025 that the original company had stopped paying some vendors. We found no bankruptcy filing.

If you signed with Abodu before the change, ask in writing who holds your contract and your deposit. If you are signing now, the usual protection applies: California caps a home-improvement down payment at $1,000 or 10% of the contract, whichever is less.

How long it takes

Abodu's process page describes about 9 to 12 months including permits. Setting the home on its foundation takes one day.
