Know what it costs, see how it looks, check the bid.
Renology Home is a free iPhone and iPad app from The Renology, the home renovation magazine, that prices a remodel for your city, redesigns a room from a photo and checks a contractor's quote. It is built on the same cost data the magazine publishes, and it gives you a range for your own project before you talk to anyone.

You can use it without signing up, and it costs nothing. It does not match you with contractors, it never asks for your phone number, and nothing you upload is passed to a contractor. You get the numbers and you decide what to do with them.
Price your project
Pick the room, say how far you are taking it, how big it is and what level of finish you want. The range closes as you answer. A refresh and a full gut are different jobs, and the app never prices them as if they were the same.

Redesign your room
Take a photo of the room as it is today and pick a style. In about 20 seconds you get a photorealistic redesign with your walls, windows and light where they really are, so you are looking at your room and not a showroom.

Check a contractor's quote
Photograph the bid or upload the PDF. The app shows you what it read so you can fix anything it got wrong, then tells you whether the price looks fair, high or low for your area, what the bid leaves out, and what to ask the contractor.

Ask Reno
Reno is the guide inside the app. Ask one practical question at a time, like whether a 50% deposit is normal or how much to hold back as a reserve, and it answers with real cost ranges and scope, using the numbers from your project.

The numbers
In the 64 California and Washington cities of the Renology cost index, the range comes from local remodel prices. Everywhere else in the US, the app starts from a national range and adjusts it for your area with the 2026 Department of Defense construction cost index. The screen always says which one you are looking at.
It is a planning range, not a contractor bid. It narrows as you tell the app more and stops narrowing where a photo and a few answers can no longer be honest about the price.

No. You can price a project, redesign a room, check a quote and ask Reno without signing up. An email sign-in only comes up if you want to save a project so it is there next time. Without an account there is a small daily cap on redesigns.

Not yet. Renology Home is on the US App Store for iPhone and iPad (iOS 16.4 or later). On Android or a computer, the room visualizer and the Renovation Cost Index on therenology.com cover part of the same ground in a browser.
