Best for a transferable lifetime structural warranty

Barrier Reef builds fiberglass pools in South Carolina and became an employee-owned company in 2025. It is one of the few makers to publish shell prices, though its guide dates from 2019: shells from $12,000 to $30,000 and installed pools from $45,000 to $85,000. Its lifetime structural warranty transfers once to a new owner.

Barrier Reef pool cost

Barrier Reef's guide, last updated in March 2019, lists shells at $12,000 to $16,000 for small pools up to 26 ft, $15,000 to $20,000 for medium pools and $18,000 to $30,000 for large ones, with installed pools at $45,000 to $85,000. Prices across the industry have risen since, so treat these as a floor and get a current dealer quote.

Warranty

The lifetime limited structural warranty covers the original buyer and transfers once to a later buyer of the home. "Structurally sound" means the pool can hold water. The gelcoat is covered against blistering for 15 years.

Where Barrier Reef sells

The part a pool price leaves out

Get your yard checked by a local pool contractor

Crane access, excavation, the pad, electrical, fencing and permits decide most of the gap between a pool price and a finished backyard. In Southern California, the Bay Area and Greater Seattle, we can introduce you to 2 to 3 licensed pool contractors who can walk your yard and price that part.
