Who installs Bath Fitter in San Diego, the Bay Area and beyond?

It depends on which end of the state you live in. In the north, Bath Fitter Northern California is company-owned and runs the Bay Area, Sacramento and Fresno itself. In the south, two franchises carry the name: California Bath Systems in El Cajon, behind the San Diego County and Palm Springs pages, and Pacific Coast Bath Solutions in Ventura.

Los Angeles is covered by a service-area page, and we found no store page for Orange County. If you live in either, ask early which company would do the work, because that company holds the license you will want to look up.

The California licenses we checked

Look up any of these, or the number on your own contract, on the CSLB license lookup. Check that it is active, that the bond and workers compensation are current, and whether there are public disclosures.

Three licenses, and all three include plumbing

This is where Bath Fitter pulls ahead. Every California licensee we found holds C-36, the plumbing classification, alongside the synthetic-products classifications that cover acrylic systems. Plumbing is part of the job: several of Bath Fitter’s own San Francisco permits include a new valve along with the acrylic wall.

One small thing to watch. On the San Diego and Palm Springs pages, the header shows license 984789, which CSLB assigns to an unrelated heating and air contractor. The fine print on the same pages shows the right number, 984379. We could not tell why the two differ, and it is a good reminder that the number on your contract is the one to check.

What the lifetime warranty covers

Bath Fitter offers a lifetime warranty on the products it manufactures, and its San Jose page says that warranty transfers to new owners, which helps if you plan to sell. The wording is about the products. Before you sign, ask the local company to put in writing how it handles labor if something needs fixing later.

What does Bath Fitter cost in California?

Bath Fitter does not publish prices; its pricing page says the detailed quote comes at a free in-home consultation. Building permits offer a glimpse. On the three San Francisco permits since 2024 that name Bath Fitter Northern California as the contractor, the declared job values were $10,000, $15,000 and $29,000. The largest was a master-bath shower replacement.

Three permits is a small sample, and a declared value is what goes on the permit, not the final contract price. Treat them as reference points, not a quote, and compare two or three written quotes for the same scope. For scale, San Francisco homeowners who pulled permits for fully tiled tub-to-shower conversions inside a bathroom remodel declared a median of $28,000 in 2026.
