Best one-day bath remodel companies in California

A new tub or shower in a single day sounds almost too easy. Here is who does the work in California, and what to ask before they arrive.

We looked at six of the best-known names in one-day bath remodeling: where each one works in California, what its warranty covers, and the license behind the local team that comes to your home.

If you only read one paragraph

For most California homeowners, Bath Fitter is the safest first call: its three California operations hold clean licenses, and all of them include plumbing. If you live outside its map, Five Star Bath Solutions reaches more of the state than anyone else here and backs its work with a warranty that covers labor and transfers to a buyer. Jacuzzi Bath Remodel brings the best-known name, though its warranty changed in August 2026. None of them lists prices online, so the in-home visit is where the real comparison happens. Licenses checked October 21, 2026.

Looking for West Shore Home? It does not appear to work in California yet. See the names we left out, and why.

Who actually shows up at your door?

Usually a local company wearing a national name. Every brand here sells and installs in California through a franchise, a dealer or a regional subsidiary, and that company holds the license. Ask the salesperson for the license number during the visit, then search it on the CSLB license lookup.

Four things are worth reading on the record: whether the license is active, whether the bond and workers compensation are current, which classifications it holds (C-36 is plumbing), and whether there is a public disclosure such as a citation. A suspended license or a cancelled bond is a reason to stop and ask, before any deposit.

Match the number on the contract to the business name. On two Bath Fitter location pages, the header shows a license number that CSLB assigns to an unrelated heating and air contractor, while the fine print shows the correct one. Small mismatches like that are why the number on your contract is the one to check.

So what will a one-day bath remodel cost?

You will find out at the kitchen table. Every brand prices at a free in-home consultation and advertises seasonal offers rather than prices. The one credible published figure is national: This Old House reports $11,000 to $20,000 on average for a Jacuzzi Bath Remodel, from its 2026 survey of 1,000 homeowners.

A full tiled conversion is a different job. San Francisco homeowners who pulled permits for tub-to-shower conversions inside a bathroom remodel declared a median of $28,000 in 2026. See what a tub-to-shower conversion costs for how the two kinds of project compare.

Get at least two written quotes for the same scope, and ask each company what the warranty covers in writing: parts only, or parts and labor, and whether it transfers when you sell.

The names you might expect, and why they are missing

  • West Shore Home. A CSLB name search returned no license, and we found no California location. It operates in more than 40 markets across 21 states. West Shore Home (Wikipedia).
  • BathWraps. No California license found under the brand name, and its dealer locator is a contact form only.
  • Kohler LuxStone and Reveal. Kohler retired its California shower pages; the current Reveal offer says it is not available in California. Kohler Reveal.
  • Home Depot and Lowe’s. Installed bath programs, used here as reference points. Home Depot (CSLB 602331) received a letter of admonishment on 01/27/2026 and offers a 1-year labor warranty. Lowe’s Home Centers (CSLB 991832) has no disclosures. Home Depot: bathroom remodel.

How we score

Every brand that serves California through locations on its own site starts at 7.0. Each criterion can add up to its share of three more points. A rating of 5 or below adds nothing and takes nothing away, so information a company does not publish counts as neutral, and documented concerns are described in the text rather than subtracted from the score. No company paid to be listed or ranked.

  • California coverage (25%). How much of California the brand serves through locations listed on its own site.
  • License record (25%). What the CSLB record of the California company doing the work shows: active status, classifications, bond, workers compensation and any public disclosures.
  • Warranty (20%). Published warranty terms, especially whether labor is covered and whether the warranty transfers to a buyer.
  • Install time (10%). The installation time the brand publishes.
  • Price transparency (10%). Whether a homeowner can see a price before an in-home visit. No brand here publishes one, so every brand is rated neutral.
  • Track record (10%). Ownership structure and recent changes in California, read from public records.

Company names and logos are trademarks of their owners and are shown only to identify each company. The illustration at the top of the page is generated and shows no specific brand.

License records were read on the CSLB license lookup, which showed data current as of October 21, 2026. Where a location page did not show a license number, we matched the license by business name and address.

  • : First published. Six brands ranked, four listed as not ranked. CSLB records checked the same day.

Frequently asked questions

How much does Bath Fitter cost in California?

Bath Fitter does not publish a price. Its pricing page says a detailed quote comes at a free in-home consultation. No one-day bath brand serving California publishes a dollar figure, so compare written quotes for the same scope.

How much does a Jacuzzi Bath Remodel cost?

Jacuzzi Bath Remodel does not publish a price. This Old House reports $11,000 to $20,000 on average from its 2026 survey of 1,000 homeowners, a national figure. For purchases from August 1, 2026, the Jacuzzi warranty covers parts only, not labor.

Who installs Jacuzzi Bath Remodel in California?

Third-party dealers. Its dealer-licenses page lists Jacuzzi Bath Remodel of California (CSLB 1151811, issued 03/11/2026), Mode Renovation (1085189) and CalBear Construction (1032468).

Is a one-day bath remodel worth it?

It can be when the tub or shower is sound and you want a fast refresh over existing tile. It is a different job from a tiled remodel: San Francisco homeowners who pulled permits for tub-to-shower conversions inside a bathroom remodel declared a median of $28,000 in 2026.

How do I check a bath remodel company’s license?

Ask for the license number of the local company that will do the work, not the national brand, and look it up on the CSLB license search. Check that it is active, that the bond and workers compensation are current, and whether there are public disclosures.

Does West Shore Home work in California?

We found no California license or location for West Shore Home as of October 21, 2026.
