The shower quote that says tile but not waterproofing

Beautiful tile does not tell you what is behind it.

This fictional quote demonstrates how to compare scope. Its price is not a market benchmark, actual bid or savings claim.

The sample quote

Illustrative bathroom quote — $24,500. Remove existing tub and install a tiled walk-in shower. Tile allowance $8 per square foot. Standard shower valve included. Glass enclosure excluded. Haul away demolition debris. Estimated work duration three weeks.

Tile, a valve and demolition disposal are mentioned. Waterproofing is not described in this excerpt, and glass is explicitly excluded. That does not prove waterproofing will be omitted; it is a question to resolve in writing.

Automated reading aid. “Specified” means wording was found, not that the work or price is adequate. Confirm every item in the original document.

Glass enclosure excluded.

Glass needs a separate allowance or quote to compare complete shower scopes.

Tile selection

specified
Tile allowance $8 per square foot.

A material allowance is stated. Confirm what happens if the selected tile exceeds it.

Ask: Does the allowance cover waste, trim pieces and delivery?
