Aiden and Mia had reached the breaking point with the carpet. "Two dogs, three kids, two and a half decades of beige polyester carpet — at some point you stop trying to spot-clean," Aiden told us.
The plan was simple: rip everything up, install LVP on the entire main floor. They picked COREtec Plus Plank in Modesto Oak, a 7-inch wide plank with subtle wire-brushing texture and a warm light-oak color. $7.20 per sqft for the material, $4.50 per sqft for the install, including subfloor leveling and trim.
Total install: 4 days. The crew worked across rooms, moving furniture in waves. The waterproof core meant Aiden did not have to pre-treat any old pet stains beyond a basic vacuum and dust pass.
$10,500 final. Aiden said the difference is unreal. The light oak makes the whole floor read brighter and bigger. The kids spilled juice on day two, he wiped it up with a paper towel, and that was that.
